As a school boy I used to stand on the London Road terrace and cheer on the POSH.

It was the early 90’s and my hero was always Gerry McElhinney.

His partner was the unassuming Keith Oakes. Also tall, also sporting a rubbish moustache, but always solid as a rock.

‘ooohhh Gerry Gerry’ rained down from the stand as opposing forward after opposing forward was clattered by the giant.

But Keith never really had a chant of his own…

As he progressed on to become physio, he became a cult hero.

‘Ooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaakkkkkeeeeeeeessssssss’ became the yell from the fans as he trotted on to treat an injured Poshie.

Well now he is back at London Road as part of Keith Alexanders new back up team…

cant wait to hear that cry from the fans again.
