AFC Hornchurch – An Interesting Story

We have to confess to not knowing much about AFC Hornchurch`s players, however there is an exquisite story in the tabloids this morning.

AFC Hornchurch will tomorrow feature a defender who has been around for quite a time.

Jimmy McFarlane is 43 years of age and has made over 1000 appearances playing non-league football.

We say over a 1000 appearances because according to the article, McFarlane lost count after leaving non league Thurrock.

As well as being one of their defenders though, McFarlane also lays claim to being the clubs assistant manager and remains confident about the tie on Sunday remarking,

“Days like this don`t come around very often and I`ve told our lads to savour the day because it`ll go so quick.”

“Peterborough are obviously a good team and will be favourites.”

“But we have some good players and if we win it won`t be the biggest shock of all time.”

Here at Vital Posh we hope Jimmy enjoys his day but if he thinks he`ll be around for round two he can think again!
