Peterborough United striker Nicky Ajose has joined League One side Scunthorpe United on-loan until 2nd January 2012. It is believed a call-back clause has been inserted into the loan contract to allow Posh to recall Ajose after one month.

Ajose only joined the Posh in the summer from Manchester United after they beat a host of clubs to his signature including Scunthorpe.

Ajose could make his debut at the weekend for the Iron.

Ajose, 19, links up once more with manager Alan Knill who was manager of Bury, where he spent part of last season on loan. He helped them to promotion from League Two and obviously impressed Knill enough that he has come back for his services.

Knill will be hoping he can recover the form he showed at Bury where he scored 13 goals during his spell there.

His Posh career has so far lasted less than 30 minues as he pulled his hamstring early into his debut for Posh on the opening day of the season.

He is now back to full fitness and has played in the two recent reserve games for Posh. However, with the form of fellow strikers Paul Taylor and new recruit Emile Sinclair, his chances are limited, especially with teams only being allowed to name 5 substitutes.

Vital Posh believes this is a good move for him as he will get plenty of first team action and hopefully he can show his worth in the games he plays for the Iron.
