Injury-prone Peterborough United midfielder Jermaine Anderson has rejected terms to a new contract!

At the end of last season, Posh announced a transfer list comprising of eleven players. Some of those players simply aren`t in the plans for Posh boss Grant McCann while others were simply entering the last year of their contract.

With the policy Posh have adopted, those players entering the last year of their contract would automatically go on to the transfer list unless it was expected that they would sign a new contract.

Central defender Jack Baldwin and midfielder Jermaine Anderson fall into the latter having both suffered lengthy spells on the sidelines through injury, especially Anderson who has missed the best part of the last two seasons!

Posh were confident that both players would agree to new contracts but it now appears that 21-year-old Anderson has rejected terms to the contract on the table.

Before the first of Anderson`s injuries, his form was attracting the interest of the likes of Tottenham Hotspur. Having been out of action with serious injuries to both knees, would there be any takers for him? He surely has to prove his fitness before any clubs start renewing their interest so he`s maybe thinking that he could do that next season and then walk away on the cheap! If that was the case, Posh would still be able to claim compensation due to his age.

Posh Chairman Darragh MacAnthony is hopeful that Anderson will “see the light” and change his mind after he tweeted:
