Brighton v Posh Preview (2)

After suffering the postponement of two consecutive League One fixtures, Posh finally get to sample life beside the seaside with a trip to the Sussex coastal resort of Brighton this Tuesday.

Whilst the weather may be far from conducive to paddling the sea or taking a walk along the promenade wearing a ‘kiss-me-quick hat, the fixture at the Withdean Stadium is of the utmost importance.

Posh will be looking to pick up all three points to cement their claims that an automatic promotion place is not something to be scoffed at. However, with Leicester City seemingly intent on powering away from the pack there looks like being a host of chasing clubs with their eyes on that second spot.

For the fixture, Posh will be without the injured quartet of Jamie Day, Shane Blackett, Tom Williams and Craig Morgan who injured a toe in our defeat at Huddersfield, thankfully, any fears of a break were eliminated within a couple of days of the injury occurring but he`ll not be fit enough for Tuesday night.

With Posh having recruited the non-league sensation Ben Wright, from Hampton and Richmond, Darren Ferguson may be looking to give the youngster a taste of League One life albeit from the bench. But a far more viable proposition could be debuts for our two loan signings Lee Frecklington, providing there are no problems registering his loan at least three hours before the kick off as the rules mandate, and James Chester.

The fixture, despite Brighton`s lowly position, promises to be a tight affair. On an icy evening down on the south coast, Darren Ferguson will be looking for commitment, work-rate and endeavour to enable a result to be carved out. The Withdean Stadium has its own surreal atmosphere with the action distanced from the crowd by the presence of the running track, the away support will be limited in numbers but those that are making the trip will, we believe, get their reward with Posh running out winners, possibly by two clear goals!

Next up is a home fixture against Yeovil as we continue this mad run of 10 games in 33 days.
