What a difference a week makes!

After two very poor performances, Posh looked like they were getting back to the form that took them high up the Championship.

Despite conceding a goal three minutes from time, an excellent passing performance in the first half followed by a battling team performance in the second half showed that Posh may have turned the corner and are heading back towards the standard they set themselves earlier in the season.

The backline looked strong with the excellent central defensive partnership of Zakuani and Norwich City bound Ryan Bennett. Craig Alcock also had a very good game if you ignore the poor clearance that led to Burnleys equaliser!

Joe Lewis also showed why Fergie is so insistent on keeping him as his number one choice with an excellent display.

Mark Little is improving on his marauding raids forward but still needs to remember his defensive responsibilities. He was definitely lacking for The Clarets goal!

The “invisible man” Tommy Rowe was his usual self hustling and bustling away and made some vital clearances from set pieces and interceptions.

McCann and Frecklington are slowly getting back to the form they showed prior to their injuries and linked up well with Boyd and Rowe.

Up front, David Ball made some intelligent runs which should see his partnership with Taylor remain for the foreseeable future.

Emile Sinclair and Lee Tomlin provide a good alternative to Ball and Taylor but it still feels like Fergie has his favourites as the speed of Sinclair may have been a better option on Saturday rather than Tomlin. His speed could’ve caused major problems to the Burnley backline just as it did in the home tie earlier in the season.

It was good to see Posh improving considerably on their recent performances and it bodes well going in to two massive games coming up against West Ham and then away to Cardiff.

We still need to bolster the squad as we’ll be forced to name youths on the bench again should anyone suffer an injury, plus we need a replacement for Ryan Bennett who leaves Posh at the end of this month.
