After an impressive start to the season, winning 3-0 away to Bristol City, Ipswich Town are now looking to stop a run of 2 successive League defeats when they visit Peterborough United for the early evening kick-off.

Peterborough themselves had a good start to the campaign compared to their previous venture in The Championship when they came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1. Subsequent games have resulted in an away defeat to Blackpool, despite playing very well, and a good 2-2 draw away at Blackpool, despite not playing well!!

Could Posh be hit by a backlash by the Tractor Boys as they try to kick-start their campaign or can Posh continue to make London Road a tough place for teams to visit?

Peterborough United Team News:

Darren Ferguson could face selection problems with Nicky Ajose returning to fitness and left back Ben Gordon signing on loan from Chelsea. With the reduction in the number of substitutes, some players are going to be disappointed throughout the season as they don`t make the 16 named players on match day. Both Gordon and Ajose could miss out this week.

One player who could make his first appearance on the subs bench is goalkeeper Joe Lewis. Lewis, who fractured his knee cap in a collision during the League One Play-Offs, is now challenging for the number one spot. With the form of Paul Jones though, he could find himself on the subs bench for a while!

Despite the possible “nice to have” selection headache facing Fergie, I suspect he`ll stick with the team that started in midweek against Millwall.

Ipswich Town Team News:

Ipswich manager Paul Jewell has brought in eight players in the summer, but believes he will need further reinforcements if he is to turn round the fortunes of the club and mount a challenge for the play-offs.

With 3 home defeats in a week, Jewell is “sick and tired” of his sides repeated failings. “Teams counter against us and we`re in the wrong holes. I`m sick and tired of saying it” he told BBC Radio Suffolk.

With the likes of Lee Bowyer, Keith Andrews and the dangerous Michael Chopra in the squad, you`d expect Ipswich to be challenging for the play-offs. Maybe it will take a while for them to gel as a team before they start to play as Jewell would like. Let`s hope they don`t gel until after Saturdays match.

Match Prediction:

With the Sky cameras at London Road, expectations are high that Posh will be involved in yet another entertaining match. There will definitely be goals in the game and with both teams keen to pick up more points, I can see it ending in a 2-2 draw.
