Darragh MacAnthony has tonight taken to twitter, to voice his opinion on the ongoing saga of Dwight Gayle’s future. Will he stay? Or will he go? Well, tonight, it seems that Posh’s Chairman is resigned to losing the forward he paid £500k for just 6 months ago. But 29 games and 13 goals later, he looks set to return to the ground that saw Posh get relegated. Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park looks to be Gayle’s destination, and Premier League football will await the man who has always been rated highly by the club, and by the fans as possibly the best striker in Peterborough United’s history. That debate is for another day, but the multi million pound move of Dwight Gayle to Crystal Palace looks set to be complete.
MacAnthony tweeted: ‘I’ve had a lot of angry tweets over last 72 hours from posh fans on here. No idea why in fairness as I run our club same way I’ve always said I would. Our model has been in place for long time under me. It’s prudent & right fit for us. So lets focus on bigger picture thanks’
‘8 months ago I tweeted I’d found something special & he was a mix of CMS/Aaron. Many laughed at me. Sometimes fans have to have a little faith & trust those lucky enough to own their beloved clubs. Everything I do is for greater good of team/club ling term. Cheers.’
