Posh travel to the Ricoh Stadium this Saturday keen to get that vital first win of Mark Cooper`s managerial tenure, it`s a win that would boost confidence in the squad and also is a win that could happen.

Coventry City are a side that are currently struggling and Chris Coleman will probably feel as confident as Posh are of getting a result.

Ahead of the game, Mark Cooper has spoken about the need to convert draws into wins if Posh are to thrive in the second half of the season, remarking,

‘We look solid now and we’ve had three decent results, but now is the time to start turning those draws into wins.”

‘We could have won a couple of those matches, but equally we could have lost a couple of them. We have a base to work from now as we have shown we can deal with being under pressure.”

‘We have a bit of work to do offensively, but we have the players to score goals and tomorrow would be a great time to get our first away win.”

‘If we can get three points we can get back into a pack of six or seven teams and as long as we play with the same determination and effort as we showed at Ipswich there is no reason why we can’t win.”

‘Coventry are on a bad run which means they won’t be playing with much confidence and they are not selecting from a very big squad because of injuries so it’s a great opportunity for us.”

‘But I watched them on Wednesday and they have good players and a top manager. They have plenty of forward firepower with Best, Morrison, McIndoe and Eastwood, but so do we.’

I`m excited about this one, that feeling that normally accompanies a victory is hovering around me, come on Posh, do it for all of those supporters that have traveled up and down the country cheering Posh on!

Posh Squad – Lewis, Bennett, Griffiths, Geohaghon, Morgan, Whelpdale, Coutts, Frecklington, Boyd, Mclean, Mackail-Smith, McKeown, Pearce, Diagouraga, Batt, Rowe, Green, Simpson, Keates, Lee, Zakuani.

Although here at Vital Posh we understand that Gabriel Zakuani is unlikely to have shaken off the injury that kept him out of the 0-0 draw at Portman Road in midweek!
