The EFL have now released the candidates for the October Goal of the Month competition for the Championship, League One and League Two.

October gave plenty of strikes to consider but the EFL have shortlisted three strikes from each division for the past month.

Voting for all divisions ends on Tuesday November 14.

The winners of the EFL Goals of the Month are chosen by a fan poll on Skysports.com and the shortlist for the poll is decided by a judging panel following suggestions from supporters via Twitter.

The judging panel is made up of Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, Sky Bet Sponsorship Manager David Tweed and EFL Senior Media Manager Rob Meaden.

October sees the following nominations.

Championship:

Sammy Ameobi: BOLTON WANDERERS v Sheffield Wednesday – 14th October
Ameobi headed towards the wing initially before cutting back inside and curling an exquisite shot into the bottom corner to set up Bolton`s first EFL win of the season.

Paul Coutts: SHEFFIELD UNITED v Reading – 21st October
Coutts didn`t hesitate as the ball was poked out to him off a defender`s leg. One swish of his left foot later and it took a perfect arc on its way into the top corner of the net.

Joe Williams: BARNSLEY v Burton Albion – 31st October
Pure dynamism from Williams, firstly to anticipate a bouncing ball, next to chest it forwards into space and finally to time the sweetest of left-foot volleys to perfection.

There was only one thought in Carey`s head as he strode on to a loose ball, weaved his way between two defenders and stroked a pinpoint 20-yard strike into the top corner.

Marcus Maddison: PETERBOROUGH UNITED v Shrewsbury Town – 28th October
Vision and audacity combined beautifully in a goal for the ages as Maddison spotted the chance to drive a stunning 40-yard strike over the head of stranded visiting keeper Dean Henderson.

The on-loan Bournemouth midfielder demonstrated remarkable technique to help the Valiants to a first win under Neil Aspin, running away from goal, swivelling and striking a dropping ball into the bottom corner on the volley.

Shipley`s first goal as a professional will stay with him forever. His pinpoint free-kick was struck with pace and unerring accuracy around the edge of the Luton wall and into the back of the net.
