Forest Farce Over Boyd Non-Signing

Having agreed a fee with Peterborough United for George Boyd, put the player through a medical, the Forest owner suddenly cancelled the deal at the very last minute!

Boyd had a medical at 10am at the City Ground and Forest manager Alex McLeish was keen to bring the talented midfielder into the club but the Forest owner pulled the plug on the deal with less than an hour left of the transfer deadline! It is rumoured Boyd failed his medical because he doesn`t have 20/20 vision!!

Posh owner Darragh MacAnthony was absolutely gobsmacked and is disgusted with how the Forest owner has gone about the move as he tweeted: “What is with NFFC messing around with my club.1st my manager, now after putting Boyd through a medical since 10am this morning, their owner has cancelled the deal at last minute when their manager wants him. Farcical and ridiculous.

“Apparently after playing 300 games in 6 and half years, his vision isn’t 20/20 so no deal. Total disgrace the whole thing.”

The collapse will come as a big disappointment after other clubs had also met the agreed fee for Boyd. Crystal Palace were the first club to have a bid accepted and it was widely thought Boyd would sign for his childhood team; that was until Forest came in with a better offer!

The owners of Forest obviously don`t know much about football and about how skilful Boyd is. They only need to look on YouTube at clips of Boyd to see his skills, his vision, his goals, his assists and realise that he would offer something special and different to what Forest have already got. McLeish obviously wanted Boyd, so why didn`t the owners??

Many fans and fellow players are astounded by what has happened. David Stockdale tweeted: “OMG! @DMAC102 guess they didn’t see his vision in the games I’ve played against him! Excuse the pun but I’ve seen it all now!!”

It will mean Posh fans will get to see Boyd see out his contract at London Road before moving on in the summer for free. However, it will also hit Posh in the pocket as they will lose out on the fee believed to be in excess of £500,000 while having to continue to pay his large wages which are over £10,000 per week!

If Forest don’t want Boyd, Posh will gratefully have him in their squad for the rest of the season.
