What a difference 6 months make?

Six months ago, Lee Frecklington was put on the transfer list and was facing the prospect of leaving Peterborough United.

The former Lincoln City captain signed for Posh in January 2009. Most of his Posh career has been spent on the treatment table though.

He made just 2 appearances (plus 5 from the subs bench)during that first season. The following season he played 26 League games but last season he made just 3 appearances with a further 6 from the subs bench.

However, following his return to fitness and a very impressive showing whilst the squad were at their summer training camp in Portugal, Frecklington was taken off the transfer list and has been ever present in the starting line up this season. He has so far played all 17 League and Cup games scoring 4 times in the process.

He will be missing this Saturday’s home match against Derby County though following his midweek sending off at Southampton after receiving two first half yellow cards.

Frecklington has signed a new two-year contract at London Road which will see him remain at the club until 2014. His current deal was due to expire at the end of this season.

Grant Basey

Meanwhile, left back Grant Basey has signed an extension to his loan at npower League One team Wycombe Wanderers.

Basey will stay at Wycombe for a further month having been a regular in the side since he joined the Chairboys on loan last month.
