Vital Posh looks at previous matches between Peterborough United and Dagenham & Redbridge ahead of the Quarter-Final JP Trophy match at London Road.

Posh v Dagenham - JP Trophy

Posh and the Daggers have only met each other on 6 occasions! Four times in the League, once in the League Cup and once in the FA Cup.

There has never been a draw between these two sides while the Daggers only success came in the League Cup in the 2008/09 season when they won by a single Mark Nwokeji goal in the 65th minute.

In the six matches, Posh have scored 16 goals while only conceding six. The last meeting between these sides saw the biggest win, with Posh putting five past their visitors.

If the previous matches are anything to go by, referee Mark Haywood can leave his cards at home as there has only ever been one booking in the six matches played between these sides. That was issued in the last game and went to the Daggers Will Antwi.

The previous results between these two sides were:

2010/11 07 May 11 Peterborough 5 0 Dag & Red League One
2010/11 05 Apr 11 Dag & Red 0 2 Peterborough League One
2008/09 07 Oct 08 Peterborough 0 1 Dag & Red League Cup
2007/08 08 Mar 08 Dag & red 2 3 Peterborough League Two
2007/08 06 Nov 07 Peterborough 3 1 Dag & Red League Two
1997/98 06 Dev 97 Peterborough 3 2 Dag & Red FA Cup

Last Time Out at London Road

The Daggers were blunted at London Road as Posh came away with an emphatic 5-0 win which resigned the London side to relegation to League Two, just a year after gaining promotion via the play-offs to the third tier for the first time in their history.

Posh went ahead after taking a throw-in near their own corner flag! Nathaniel Mendez-Laing latched onto the long throw before racing half the length of the pitch before placing the ball past Daggers keeper Tony Roberts

Darren Currie twice hit the post for the Daggers before Grant McCann doubled Posh`s lead.

Posh hit three goals in the final 10 minutes to wrap things up. Firstly, George Boyd fired in a right foot shot before Craig Mackail-Smith headed in goal number four and his 32nd goal of the campaign! David Ball struck the final nail in the Daggers coffin to round off a miserable afternoon for the visitors.

It wasn`t all one-way traffic though as Dagenham had plenty of chances to pull level in the first half when John Akinde was twice denied by Posh goalkeeper Joe Lewis and Romain Vincelot headed over. Vincelot and Jon Nurse both headed wide for Dagenham later in the game while Tommy Rowe and Mackail-Smith could`ve added to Posh`s tally.
