Posh v Norwich - FA Cup 2012-13

There have only ever been two competitive matches between Posh and the Canaries! This came back in 1986 in a Littlewoods Cup 2nd Round tie which was played over two legs. For those of you not old enough, the Littlewoods Cup is essentially the League Cup which is known these days as the Capital One Cup.

Posh played the home leg first and battled to a goalless draw before going down to a single Wayne Biggins goal in the return leg at Carrow Road.

6,956 people attended the London Road clash to see John Wile`s team hold their more illustrious opponents. The team on that day comprised:

1. Andy Beasley
2. Alan Paris
3. Jeff Doyle
4. Bryn Gunn
5. Paul Price
6. Wakeley Gage
7. David Gregory
8. Lil Fuccillo
9. Les Lawrence
10. Jackie Gallagher
11. Mark Nightingale
Subs:
12. Mick Nuttell
13. Garry Butterworth

The return fixture was attended by 10,027 fans who eventually saw Norwich finish fifth in Division One that season! Posh on the other hand finished tenth in Division Four, one place ahead of Cambridge United!
