Last Time Out at London Road

It was a typical Posh match with plenty of action and goals as Posh came out 5-4 winners against Swindon.

Posh raced to a three goal lead in just 22 minutes thanks to two Craig Mackail-Smith goals in the first five minutes and then Lee Frecklington adding the third but Swindon hit back through former Posh striker David Ball’s 12-yard shot, Matt Ritchie’s 25 yard blast (courtesy of a goalkeeping error from Joe Lewis!) and another composed Ball finish to level the match before half time.

George Boyd drilled home for Posh 13 minutes into the second half before the Robins levelled again this time through a Charlie Austin penalty after Charlie Lee had handled the ball.

It was Kevin Amankwaah, who played against Posh in pre-season for the Cobblers, who put a low Nathaniel Mendez-Laing cross into his own net in the third minute of injury time to give Posh the victory.
