Is Stevenage’s right-sided player Lawrie Wilson the next player to sign for Peterborough United?

Reports coming out of South London suggest Charlton Athletic have missed out on one of their targets as Lawrie Wilson is expected to tie up a deal with Championship rivals Posh.

The Stevenage player has played in various positions but his main position is right-back which is an area Posh boss Darren Ferguson is looking to strengthen after Mark Little was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season.

The 24-year-old is expected to complete his move to Posh this week and will fight for the right-back spot with last seasons impressive Craig Alcock.

Wilson played quite a few games for Stevenage on the right-side of midfield last season and finished with about 8 assists but according to a Stevenage fans forum, the Boro fans have differing opinions of him. He did have impressive games against Posh and Spurs last season though causing both teams problems while playing in a right-midfield position!

The attacking side of his attributes is obviously something Fergie likes as Fergie likes his full-backs to attack.

Should he sign for Posh, he should offer more competition which is something we need for every position.
