Peterborough United youngster Danny Kearns is making a good impression at York whilst on loan.

Kearns signed for York for an initial one months loan earlier this month as he looked to gain some vital game time having recovered from a knee injury he sustained in the pre-season game against Aston Villa.

He had looked impressive in pre-season and it was a big blow to Posh and the player when he picked up the injury but now he’s back, he is determined to get back to full fitness and help York out at the same time.

York manager Gary Mills certainly likes what he has seen so far: ‘I thought he did well against Coventry and he did well again on Saturday.

‘I’m delighted with him. He’s not afraid to have the ball, and he keeps it and passes it.’ Mills continued.

‘He will only get better the more games he plays with us. I only took him off because I thought Matty Blair could relieve some pressure by getting down the sides more. Other than that, I wouldn’t have brought him off because I thought he was excellent.’

The young Irish midfielder made his full York debut in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat to Coventry City and was again outstanding in the draw with Yorkshire rivals Bradford City.

Would you want him back at Posh when his loan period ends or would you prefer him to stay longer at York (or another team).
