For our away trip in the space of four days Posh visited Leicester City, a side, who like us, were promoted last season from League One.

However, it`s fair to say that Leicester have adapted slightly better to life in the Championship than we have and many suspected that a home victory would be the inevitable result last night.

But, whilst Posh have failed to pick up that elusive first Championship win of the season, yet, it`s fair to say that we`re a gallant and determined outfit who are prepared to battle to get ourselves a little higher up the table.

As it turned out, the spoils were to be shared for the second fixture in succession with the game seeing both sides score from the penalty spot.

Darren Ferguson started with the same eleven that had earned that valuable point at Queens Park Rangers and saw his side go on to dominate the half. Sadly the only goal Posh could put on the scoreboard came, as mentioned previously, from the penalty spot.

Aaron Mclean was fouled, after thirty-seven minutes, by Wayne Brown and George Boyd stepped up to put us 1-0 in the lead. On reflection Posh had the chances to put the game out of Leicester`s reach in that half but couldn`t capitalise on their supremacy, a point rued by Darren afterwards when he remarked,

“We dominated the first half and we should have been further than one up. In fact the game should have been over.”

“You have to score from opportunities like that and it cost us.”

In fact it did. A mere two minutes I to the second half Tom Williams was adjudged to have handled a cross from Robbie Nelson and Leicester`s top scorer, from last season, Matty Fryatt, made no mistake form the spot.

Once again, Posh might look back on chances to snatch a late victory and whilst offside was to deprive Craig Mackail-Smith of a goal at Loftus Road on Saturday, his poor aim was to be his downfall last night as he spurned a chance late on by putting it wide.

Nevertheless a point gained is better than none at all and surely that elusive first win will come at London Road, on Saturday, when Reading are the visitors!
