Peterborough United right back Mark Little is set for a spell on the sidelines as he requires surgery on his long standing groin problem.

Little was substituted early in the second half last weekend agateinst Birmingham City and will miss this weekends home game against high flying Middlesbrough.

He will be available for selection for the following two games against Reading and Barnsley as he can’t make the problem any worse if he plays and the surgery won’t take place until after these games.

Ferguson said to www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk “I was going to leave Mark out anyway because he needs a rest, but he will be available for the next two matches as he can`t make the injury worse ahead of his surgery.

“Craig Alcock has been outstanding defensively this season and Tom Kennedy may give us better balance on the left so it`s a problem we should be able to overcome.
