Peterborough United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jack Marriott in the two one victory over Rotherham United at the weekend at London Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Marriott was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘After a hat-trick last week, Marriott was among the goals again as Peterborough continued their 100 per cent start to the season. The striker grabbed two goals as the Posh overcame Rotherham United on Matchday 3, sealing a second successive place in our Team of the Week.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Marriott for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Matt Gilks (Scunthorpe United), Jack O’Connell (Sheffield United), Liam Cooper (Leeds United), Tom Miller (Carlisle United), Ricky Holmes (Charlton Athletic), Conor Hourihane (Aston Villa), Sean Longstaff (Blackpool), Billy Bodin (Bristol Rovers), Jack Marriott (Peterborough United), Devante Cole (Fleetwood Town), David Nugent (Derby County).

Manager – Michael Flynn (Newport County).
