Peterborough United striker Jack Marriott has been named in this weeks Team of the Week.

The latest Football League Team of the Week that has been selected following the weekend clash with Charlton Athletic and Posh are represented.

The performance by Jack Marriott in the four-one victory over the Addicks at the ABAX Stadium was enough to earn him a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Marriott was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read:

‘Back on the goal trail, Marriott helped wrap up an emphatic home victory with a brace, taking him to 27 in all competitions for the season.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way and with Marriott claiming two late goals he obviously stole the limelight with the panel of judges but we`re surprised that neither fullback, Andrew Hughes and Liam Shephard, were picked out as they were also excellent in the match.

Was Marriott your Man of the Match or did you think there were players on the park that impressed you more? Vote for your Man of the Match v Charlton Athletic – HERE.

While you`re at it, you can Rate The Ref – Brett Huxtable, as well.

Anyway, well played to Marriott for his recognition and it really was a case of “practice makes perfect” after the training he received leading up to the match by the new management team:

The Full Team:

Lee Burge (Coventry City)
Joe Bennett (Cardiff City)
James Chester (Aston Villa)
Sam Habergham (Lincoln City)
Alex Rodman (Shrewsbury Town)
Lee Martin (Gillingham)
James Maddison (Norwich City)
Bradley Dack (Blackburn Rovers)
