What did Peterborough United manager Grant McCann think about seeing his side progress to the third round of the Checkatrade Trophy after beating Southend United?

Posh put in a good performance to move within four matches of a Wembley appearance by overcoming a disappointing Shrimpers side two-nil at the ABAX.

Midfielder Gwion Edwards grabbed the opening goal after 16 minutes before Marcus Maddison wrapped things up around the hour mark.

The only downside to the match were the injuries suffered by Leo Da Silva Lopes and Ryan Tafazolli late in the game.
