Peterborough United striker Ricky Miller has been charged of assault and will appear in court later this month!

Just moments after Posh released a statement surrounding Ricky Miller, facts have come to light surrounding the real reason he is unavailable for the first team.

The statement said he had a “personal illness and related circumstances”. Those “related circumstances” are a pending court appearance for assaulting a police officer!

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “A 28-year-old man from Welwyn Garden City has been charged with using threatening behaviour, assaulting a police officer and failure to provide a specimen of breath.

“He is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrate`s Court on November 22.”

The incident happened last Sunday [5th November] at Ortongate Shopping Centre at around 10:50am.

Posh signed local boy Miller in the summer following a very impressive scoring record in non-league and it was seen as a last chance for the 29-year-old to make in it League football.

Could this incident scupper his chances of further league football or will he overcome his “illness” and grab this lucrative opportunity that most fans would give their right arm for?
