Peterborough United have had bids for two players rejected.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson was hopeful of bringing in the extra bodies to bolster his squad but the bids for the unnamed pair have been rejected.

Talking to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Fergie said: ‘They were substantial bids. To be fair to the clubs involved, they’re doing quite well themselves.

‘It’s always difficult to get players out of clubs that are doing well.

‘There’s been more than the one offer but they’re not having it so there you go.

‘I actually think we’re in the position where the players might have wanted one or two to come in to give them a lift. I’m more than happy with the squad I’ve got.’
