Oldham v Posh Preview!

Tomorrow, Saturday, is the first day of the rest of our lives.

Lives that could be about to be enriched by the possibility of Posh achieving back-to-back promotions, all that stands between us is six results, six wins will see the promised land of the Championship reached; five wins and a draw should also suffice. It promises to be a nervy journey, a journey that start at Boundary Park against Oldham Athletic.

Oldham are a club in transition, a recent fracas saw their manager depart and a legend in their parts, Joe Royle, take over. Whether wily old Joe still has what it takes remains to be seen.

However, he`s hampered this week by the probable non-availability of his captain, Sean Gregan, who suffered an ankle injury during training. Also out is their striker, on loan from Watford, Steve Kabba, but a rare ray of sunshine will see Neal Eardley declared available again after international duty.

As for Posh, Darren Ferguson has a settled squad to choose from. It`s a squad that has served him well in recent weeks as victory after victory has been notched up. Craig Morgan will once again be absent due to his persistent toe injury but with Charlie Lee in such monumental form the Welshman will not be missed.

Earlier this week Joe Lewis was declared an injury doubt and we believe he may well be absent tomorrow, if so Darren Ferguson, if we`ve judged this right, will opt for youth in the shape of Master McKeown, therefore giving the starting eleven the following look,

Lewis (or McKeown), Martin, Lee, Zakuani, Williams, Whelpdale, Keates, Coutts, Boyd, McLean, Mackail-Smith.

Here`s hoping the Posh bandwagon continues to roll and come Saturday evening we`re looking at a maximum of four wins out of our last five for automatic promotion.
