Peterborough United goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik is in contention for the Sky Bet Football League One Player of the Month Award.

Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Nominees - October

Posh goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik is following Britt Assombalonga and manager Darren Ferguson in being nominated for a League One award.

Assombalonga won the young player of the month award for August while Ferguson failed to win the manager of the month award in September.

Olejnik is up against Chelsea`s Patrick Bamford who is on loan at MK Dons, the impressive James Henry from Wolves and also Carl Baker from Coventry City.

The Football League cited the following reasons for the nominations:

Carl Baker (Coventry City)
A mazy run and long-range strike which put his side on their way to a 3-1 win over Leyton Orient was the personal highlight for Baker, but his passing ability and captaincy also stood out as he drove the Sky Blues through an unbeaten October.

Patrick Bamford (Chelsea / MK Dons)
The on-loan youngster continued his cultured hold-up play and free-scoring ways with four goals, including a wonderfully cushioned control and assured finish against Gillingham as well as a pinpoint late winner over Rotherham United.

James Henry (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
Henry has brought traditional wing play and a wonderful array of crosses to Molineux since joining on loan from Millwall. He provided a hat-trick of assists in the 3-0 win at Colchester United, another at Bradford City and has scored twice himself.

Bobby Olejnik (Peterborough United)
The last line of an increasingly watertight Posh defence, Olejnik kept four clean sheets and conceded just a single goal. He dominated his area and produced a number of fine reaction saves, notably late on in the win over Shrewsbury Town.

The manager of the month award is between Russell Slade (Leyton Orient), Kenny Jackett (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Steven Pressley (Coventry City) and Graham Westley (Stevenage).

The winners will be announced on Friday [8th November] live on Sky Sports News.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers` Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins.
