England Under-21s capped another fine performance with a battling 2-1 win in Norway.

It also marked the debut of Peterborough United centre-back Ryan Bennett for the Under-21s.

Bennett was last capped at England Under-18 level and was surprised by his call-up.

He put in a polished display which was described by TV pundits as ‘outstanding’.

Bennett played the full 90 minutes but is now fully focussed on Saturday’s important trip to bottom of the table side Bristol City in the nPower Championship.

Speaking to www.theposh.com Bennett said ‘It was a great experience to play the full 90 minutes for England and it is obviously something I won’t ever forget. Norway were a difficult team to play against, but we got a good start and it was important to win the game.

I learned a lot from my time away, training with top quality players and the manager was great with me. I am now back and fully focussed on Saturday’s game with Bristol City.’
