Vital Posh looks at the form of both Peterborough United and Watford ahead of the npower Championship clash at London Road.
Peterborough United entertain Watford at London Road in the knowledge that they will be playing Championship football next season.
Watford have nothing to play for but pride as they sit comfortably in 13th place.
Peterborough United
Posh suffered defeat at home on Tuesday evening to promotion chasing Watford but misery changed to joy when results elsewhere filtered through meaning Posh were mathematically safe in the Championship.
Saints first goal resulted from another mistake by keeper Paul Jones who seems to be making mistake after mistake in recent games.
With many players out of form and “tired”, they may be buoyed in the knowledge that the fear of relegation is no longer something to worry about and they can play their game without pressure and put in a good final home performance of the season.
Posh remain in 18th place following their 3-1 defeat on Tuesday. They have 48 points from 44 games and are 8 points from the relegation positions but with just 2 games remaining of the season, they are safe.
So far this season at home, Posh have won ten, drawn two and lost ten. They have netted 39 times while conceding 36 goals. If Posh lose against Watford, it will finish the season off with 3 defeats on the trot at home!
The battle for the top League scorer is hotting up with just two games remaining. Paul Taylor [pictured below] has 11 League goals so far while Emile Sinclair is just one behind on 10 goals. Captain Grant McCann has 8 goals while Lee Tomlin and George Boyd are only one goal behind McCann on seven goals. Tyrone Barnett has 17 League goals which includes four goals for Posh.
Posh have now gone an amazing 119 games since they last finished a League game goalless! That was away at Ipswich on 8th December 2009.
