Bristol City visit London Road on Tuesday night in what is already being labelled a ‘crucial game` in Posh`s season.

Peterborough United -Vs- Bristol City
Venue: London Road
Date: 18th September, 2012
Kick-off: 7:45pm

The Posh suffered a 5-2 defeat at Burnley on Saturday, mainly down to more abysmal defending, and will be looking to set the record straight against Derek McInnes` team.

Bristol City also conceded 5 at the weekend; they lost 5-3 to Blackburn Rovers, in a game that saw Jordan Rhodes get his first 2 goals for Rovers.

TEAM NEWS

Peterborough United

Posh are still without injured full back Tommy Rowe, but he is the only real injury worry for Darren Ferguson. Fergie is expected to make changes in defence, after his current choices have conceded 8 goals in just 5 league games. Michael Bostwick could keep his place at the heart of the defence, but could partner Gabriel Zakuani this time out, if the captain is restored to the back line, in place of Shaun Brisley, who has had a diabolical start to the season. Kgosi Ntlhe could come back in to contention after he was rested against Burnley; this will see either Mark Little or Craig Alcock drop out of the line up, should Fergie start the young South Africa International.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is expected to start again after being the outstanding performer for Posh on Saturday, despite the big defeat. Mendez-Laing won a penalty, and scored in the game at Burnley, and is likely to be one of the first names on the team sheet. Daniel Kearns and Danny Swanson may also feature at some point in the game, after they were both left out of the Burnley squad, due to injury.

Tyrone Barnett will partner Lee Tomlin up front once again, after putting in good displays against Birmingham and Burnley. This will be Barnett`s first game this season at London Road, as the start to his season was delayed through injury.

Vital Posh predicts the starting line-up could be:

Olejnik

Little, Zakuani, Knight-Percival, Nthle

Mendez-Laing, McCann, Bostwick, Boyd

Barnett, Tomlin

Bristol City

Derek McInnes` only injury worry is right back Mark Wilson, and Scotland International, Richard Foster, is expected to deputise. Former Posh target Sam Baldock is likely to feature against the club he could`ve signed for, and he won`t be expecting a good reception from the London Road faithful!

PREDICTION

If Posh don`t sort out their defensive problems, every team in the Championship will want to play them. Darren Ferguson needs to find a solution to all the mistakes being made, and if he can`t, Posh could be on the end of another embarrassing score line.

Vital Posh predicts a 4 – 1 defeat.

REFEREE

Chris SARGINSON takes charge of this clash.

Sarginson has officiated Posh 5 times before, and Ferguson`s men have been victorious twice. The last time was when Posh hosted West Ham last season, in a game that saw Posh lose 2-0.

He will be assisted by Michael Webb and Nick Hobbis.

The fourth official is Steve Ross.
