Leeds United travel to London Road to play out the third game of the new season, as Posh look to get their first 3 points on the table.

Peterborough United -Vs- Leeds United
Venue: London Road
Date: 25th August, 2012
Kick-off: 3pm

The Posh suffered a controversial 3-2 defeat in this fixture last season as Leeds scored in the 4th minute of 3 minutes of added time. They will also be looking to get their first win of the season in this fixture.

Leeds come in to this game on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Blackpool in midweek. But Neil Warnock`s men will be confident of a victory against a Posh side that many expect to go down.

TEAM NEWS

Peterborough United

Posh are still without injured full back Tommy Rowe, and could also be without Craig Alcock, who is being assessed for fatigue after just 3 competitive games! If Alcock is left out, Mark Little will start at right back, with Kgosi Ntlhe continuing at left back.

Striker, Emile Sinclair, could be handed a start after Paul Taylor and Lee Tomlin put in below par performances at Leicester and in midweek against Millwall. Tyrone Barnett could also come back into contention if he recovers from a hamstring injury in time to take part in Saturday`s game.

Winger Daniel Kearns could also return to the squad for the game, but Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is still injured and will return to training in a few weeks` time. Darren Ferguson could change the formation for Saturday`s game. He could rotate to a flat 4-4-2, which he played in the second half against Millwall. This would see Grant McCann start in midfield.

Vital Posh predicts the starting line-up could be:

Olejnik

Little, Zakuani, Brisley, Nthle

Bostwick
Frecklington                    Boyd
Tomlin

Taylor, Sinclair

Leeds United

Leeds captain Lee Peltier is expected to start the game, even though he picked up a knock in their midweek defeat against Blackpool. But Paul Green will not play against Posh, and will be out for around 6 weeks after sustaining a knee injury.

PREDICTION

We have been very poor in the two opening league fixtures, and unless something drastic has changed since Tuesday night, we expect more of the same. Leeds are looking for their 500th away win in the football league, and will be eager to achieve that.

Vital Posh predicts an unfortunate 5 – 1 defeat.

REFEREE

Scott MATHIESON takes charge of this clash.

This will be the third time Mr Mathieson has officiated a Posh match. The previous time was away at Crystal Palace last season, in a game that ended in a 1-0 defeat. There were 3 yellow cards in the match, 2 of which were Posh players: Grant McCann and Gaby Zakuani.

He will be assisted by Darren Blunden and John Magill.

The fourth official is Guy Stretton.
