Peterborough v Oldham

From Vital Oldham:

Oldham go to London Road this weekend looking for three points and how Posh have played this season there is quite a good chance of getting them.

Posh have picked up some good results this season, they have ripped apart Bristol Rovers, Rotherham and Plymouth, but they have suffered defeats to Bournemouth and Tranmere Rovers.

However, all in all they seem to know what they are doing and their style of play could see you comfortably a goal up one minute and then a couple of quick moves later and you are one down. Latics will have to act with caution.

Peterborough Team News:

Peterborough captain Grant McCann will return to the starting line-up when Oldham visit London Road.

McCann was a second-half substitute during last weekend’s defeat at Tranmere after featuring for Northern Ireland on the Friday night but will start as Posh look to get back to winning ways.

Winger Arron Davies is set to be out for up three weeks after picking up a hamstring injury against Tranmere.

Chris Whelpdale is fit again after a thigh injury but winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing will have a late fitness test on his knee injury.

Full-back Mark Little is beginning a six-week lay-off after injuring his knee and midfielder Lee Frecklington (knee) remains sidelined.

Player to watch: Aaron Mclean
Knows where the net is and is leading scorer so far this season with four goals to his name already.

Latics Team News:

Oldham have been handed a boost with midfielder Ritchie Jones and defender Reuben Hazell set to be passed fit.

Jones has missed the last two matches with a hamstring strain and Hazell was sidelined after sustaining a tear in a thigh muscle against Shrewsbury in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Yet both men look set to be available and Warren Feeney returns after international duty, although striker Lewis Alessandra, who tore a calf muscle three weeks ago, remains sidelined.

Ryan Brooke, who badly damaged ankle ligaments in the final pre-season friendly against Preston, is still out but is making good progress.

Goalkeeper Greg Fleming is also well ahead of schedule following the serious knee injury sustained in the pre-season friendly at Rhyl.
