Despite a spirited fight back against a team that were in the Premier League last season, Posh find themselves with only one point from nine and lurking at the end of the table we`d not anticipated during the pre-season build up.

The loss also saw an end to our seven game league run without a defeat at London Road.

However, it has to be said that we never really gave ourselves a chance after going into the break 3-0 down.

Indeed, West Brom got off to a great start when Luke Moore netted with only three minutes gone, the goal knocked the stuffing out of Posh and when Moore scored again after thirty-four minutes it looked to be game, set and match for the visitors.

Sadly, with most inside London Road hoping that the half time break would see something of a shake up, Chris Brunt gave the visitors what appeared to be an unassailable lead.

Thankfully, Mackail-Smith reduced the arrears with a stooping header at the far post in first half injury time.

Darren Ferguson stirred his troops up with his half time talk because eight minutes later Aaron Mclean reduced the arrears further scoring a second and suddenly we believed a great comeback was on the cards.

Indeed, it would have been if the referee, a Mr G Horwood, hadn`t of disallowed a goal from Mackail-Smith when not a lot looked wrong with it prompting Darren to retort afterwards,

“We weren`t going to get anything off the referee. He was appalling, awful.”

So, we head off to Preston North End still looking for that elusive first Championship win of the season!

It will come won`t it?
