Posh – A Change of Style?

Lurking amongst the many forums out there are a few doubts about the way Posh are heading.

Many supporters fear that our passing game is being sacrificed in favour of the long ball game that Cooper employed whilst in charge of Kettering.

It`s a catch 22 situation if you ask me.

With only 2 wins from 18 matches perhaps we need a change of style to make an impact in this division.

When we entered it in August the talk was all about reaching the play-offs, sustaining the dream of Premier League football in under three years time, talk that has all gone a little flat lately.

Perhaps we underestimated this division, perhaps we thought it`d be a stroll in the park.

Perhaps we should take heed of the words of Cooper who talking to the local radio station, Radio Cambridgeshire, remarked,

‘The teams we are playing against have been here a number of years and have really good ex-Premier League players.”

‘You can’t out play every team; you need to win the battle first.’

Is this a reference to a more direct style of play, accepting that we`ll not be able to pass our way around most teams?

Saturday, when Swansea arrives, should enable us to further gauge how we`re evolving under Cooper!
