With the Championship campaign commencement a little over four weeks away, it promises to be an exciting few weeks whereby the excitement levels will build as we head towards the big kick-off.
For the majority of our squad, it will be the first time they ventured this far up the football ladder and for many, after playing non-league football, it is a remarkable achievement.
It`s something that Craig Mackail-Smith, who himself was playing for Dagenham and Redbridge in the Conference not too long ago, found time to comment on in a recent interview with BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, when he remarked,
“It`s been a great ride, I`ve believed in myself every step of the way and it was just a matter of time before I got to where I am.”
“To have come from Dagenham to playing in the Championship next season is a dream come true and I`m looking forward to the challenge.”
Let`s hope it is a challenge the whole squad can rise to!
