Posh – Believe in Yourselves?

Stepping up a division was always going to be a hard task!

The Championship is a completely different kettle of fish compared to where we`ve come from in the last two years.

There was always a fear that Posh may be a little over-awed going into their first game and in front f a crowd of 33,000 it has to be said that we looked a little hesitant, a little nervy and a little shy in those first forty-five minutes.

It`s a fact that Darren Ferguson picked up on in his obligatory post match interview.

The Scot, who committed himself long term to Posh in the close season, remarked to the assembled media,

“There’s no point in me saying we’re going to do well if the players don’t believe it themselves.”

‘If they get that belief as they did in the second half of the game then we’ll have no problems.’

‘I thought we deserved something from the game, we got into the game gradually and in the second half we played like we know we can.”

So, could a defeat have been the wake up call needed?

Would salvaging a draw have masked our current deficiencies?

Who knows! The season is one game old, we narrowly lost an away game, let`s give the lads a chance shall we!
