Back from its sick bed…

Sniff cough splutter.

It has been a bizarre period for this website. After a well earned holiday I have found myself ill and my brodband provider (who I will not name for fear of getting sued!!) has been providing a less than adequate service to the Peterborough suburbs.

Apart from that it has been brilliant, honest!

A couple of great results…

On the field though, things seem to be turning round after the good hidings POSH were getting in September.

A good win at Stockport County was followed up by a great win at MK Dons on Friday night.

Recalled Mark Arber and summer recruit Justin Richards were on target for the POSH in what had been billed as a battle of the long ball merchants.

A full report will follow in due course.

Fry is still here…

So the due dilligence for new POSH Chairman Darragh MacAnthony is now likely to run over into next month and the big announcement that he is owner of the club is on ice.

Of course this is causing some cynics amongst the POSH contingent to consider that he is getting cold feet.

I would rather focus on the positive side. He is clearly taking his time and getting the full picture of what he is getting himself in for, and I applaud him for that.

Without a ground of their own he must ensure that he is getting the right assets for the right price.

The accounts are bound to be in a mess. This is a football club and I can’t think of many at POSH’s level that don’t operate on or near the breadline.

As for the aforementioned Mr Fry, people are still hoping that he will be on his bike for good once the takeover is complete.

The Barnet fan in our office is desperate for him to return to the Underhill club. So are most POSH fans.

Its all the fans fault!

In another PR disaster for POSH, both manager Keith Alexander and utility man Jude Stirling have accused the fans of being the cause of the blues poor home form.

Alexander asked that the fans to boo him rather than the players. I am not sure how you can differentiate one boo from another to be honest though.

Stirling on the other hand appeared in Friday nights local paper saying that the fans edginess was transmitting to the players and they should get behind the team.

Whilst agreeing with callers to local radio to an extent that Stirling was in no position to be critical of the fans, you have to say that it is no accident that POSH are better away from home.

The fans who wont go to London Road attend away matches in their droves and get behind the team to a great extent.

Of course all of this is linked to the point above about Barry Fry.

All I can say is that I would love to be as rich as Mr MacAnthony, but I wouldn’t want to be trying to sort all this out!

But if you want a good pr man Darragh, give me a shout!
