Posh Boss Hit With Charge

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has been handed a misconduct charge by the Football Association.

The Posh boss has been charged with using abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official following the 1-1 draw with Chester on April 28, which put paid to their play-off hopes.

Ferguson was sent to the stands late in the game by referee Danny McDermid, who had booked nine players throughout the 90 minutes.

Afterwards, Ferguson claimed: ‘I was sent off because I was getting so frustrated. Our performance just wasn’t good enough.’

Ferguson has until May 16 to respond to the charge.
