As the squad head to Swansea for a difficult away fixture, it appears the long run of consecutive league games played by George Boyd could be coming to an end.

Apparently, George has been suffering from a virus and is rated as doubtful for the match.

George has, off course, been linked with Middlesbrough during the week and it is a move that could still materialise with Jim Gannon having remarked to the local radio station,

‘George is an important part of our team and while all parties are in talks we don’t won’t to see him go and he is an important part of our left-side attack.”

‘He’s the club captain, he’s got a great goal-scoring record and with Tommy Rowe in behind him they’re an important part of what’s being achieved here.’

But do George`s future ambitions include a return to League One football?

We think not!
