In a way it`s disappointing that we face a long trip to Prenton Park tonight!

I`d much preferred to have wrapped this one up at London Road some ten days ago. However, the performance that day wasn`t one to be proud of and the team will be looking to improve on that front tonight to secure a tie with the Premier League side West Bromwich Albion.

One man who is keen to see the team put on a better performance is George Boyd who in speaking to the local media has commented,

‘It would be difficult to play as badly as we did in the first game again, but we didn’t lose and now we have to make the most of our second chance in the replay.”

‘The gaffer won’t let us put in another performance like that and I think we have already proved it was a one-off with the way we played so well at Stockport on Saturday.”

‘To be 15 unbeaten in the league is a great effort and hopefully we can get a result in the cup replay tonight as well.”

‘We want to win every game we play in so we don’t think that the Tranmere game is a distraction in any way.”

‘We have got a big enough squad and good enough players to cope with a lot of games.’

As for his own form, George was remarkably honest remarking,

‘Personally I know I haven’t been at my best lately but I think everyone saw in the second half at Stockport that I am back.”

‘It is all about confidence for me and is just a case of getting some time on the ball. It was great to set Craig up for the second goal and that really got me going.”

‘I had a couple of shots go close and then I would have scored at the end but for their keeper making a blinding save.”

December promises to be a busy month with the games coming thick and fast, a point George remarked upon when he said,

‘We have got a lot of big games this month and we can’t fear anyone after the run we have been on.’

Anyone for a Posh win tonight and a Boyd man-of-the-match performance?
