After being linked with a move to Middlesbrough, it now seems that our current captain, George Boyd, is staying at London Road at least until the end of the season.

Boyd, who missed the recent 1-0 defeat at Swansea thereby finishing his 144 consecutive league game run, has spoken to Radio Cambridgeshire remarking,

“I`m not pushing for a move, I`m happy here at the moment and I will be here until I`m told otherwise.”

“My gut feeling is that I`ll be here until the end of the season.”

Great news on a temporary basis but it appears that Boyd definitely has, as we`ve mentioned in several articles recently, got ambitions not to drop back down into League One when he continues,

“I won`t be committing to anything until I know which league we`re going to be in.”

“If we stay up then maybe we can talk about a new contract, but there`s nothing to discuss at the moment.”

Looks like adios then George!
