Posh – Boyd`s Ambition!

Not too long ago the implication came, from within the club, that one of our star players may have to be sacrificed to finance something of a rebuild to keep the team in the Championship.

One of the names mentioned as being a potential candidate in a sale was George Boyd.

Boyd, now reveling in his status as our consecutive number of appearances player, obviously has ambition but, following the 3-0 win over Scunthorpe United, was quick to ease any fears held by the Posh faithful about him moving on in the very near future when he commented,

“My ambition is obviously to play in the Premier League and at the highest level I can, so hopefully I will get the chance to show everyone what I can do against Blackburn.”

“But I`m very happy at Peterborough and the way the team plays suits my style. We play a lot of attacking football.”

“I`m still improving and enjoying playing in the Championship as I seem to get a bit more space It seems you get more room to play the higher you go so playing at the highest level should definitely suit me.”

Now whilst the Posh business plan would, if it comes to a successful conclusion, have us playing Premier League football in three seasons time, you may want to ask yourselves if you can see George Boyd still being at London Road in three years time or do his talents deserve a higher stage earlier?
