Captaining our fine club at this moment in time must be a pleasurable experience.

Automatic promotion is on the horizon and the adulation associated it with will be richly deserved by a team that had its skeptics back in August.

However, it remains vitally important that we all remain focused and don`t get carried away by what we`ve done as opposed to what we`ve still to achieve.

But, with confidence high in the camp, Russell Martin has spoken to the local media about the squads determination not to let this great position slip, remarking,

“We’ve had the points on the board for a fair while, but there have been a lot of ifs and buts about the other teams possibly catching or passing us depending on results in their games in hand.”

‘That is not the case anymore and it is now in our hands, but we mustn’t allow that to change our approach or focus.”

‘We have 100 per cent belief in ourselves and our ability as players to hang onto the position we have got ourselves into.”

Before re-iterating what we`ve been saying for the past three weeks or so,

‘I know it is an old cliche, but we have to carry on taking things one game at a time and hopefully continue picking up the points.”

‘That means we are not looking any further ahead than the Oldham game where we need to get a result to take us into the Easter fixtures.”

‘It is an approach that has served us well so far this season. We have a chat after each game where we take out the positives and sort out any negatives before moving on.’

Here at Vital Posh we have to admit that there have been very few negatives since February turned into March, let`s hope we can keep it that way.
