However, for all the jibes we love to aim in the general direction of that county, tonight we`ll all have our fingers crossed that one of its football teams can do us a favour.
Tonight Colchester United travel to Millwall as the team immediately beneath us in League One seeks to gain those vital three points to close the gap for that crucial second automatic place.
Unfortunately, for our sakes, the omens do not look good.
Colchester were soundly beaten, 3-0, by Scunthorpe at the weekend and it wouldn`t surprise me if they went down by a similar score line tonight.
But we can but hope!
