Although Darren Ferguson led us to back-to-back promotions and propelled us into the limelight, recent results meant a parting of the ways was almost inevitable.

However, with the club remaining tight-lipped over exactly what went on in the hours leading up to the split, I guess we`ll never know exactly what went on.

Suffice to say though that since the departure by mutual consent the remarks coming out of London Road serve as a tribute to the sterling work done by Darren with Barry Fry leading the way, commenting,

“We would like to thank him for his miraculous achievements and we wish him and his family all the best in the future.”

But, one can`t help wondering if we`ll ever see Manchester United at London Road again, unless our paths cross in the domestic cups what with a father scorned and all that jazz!
