Peterborough United are closing in on one of their transfer targets. Stevenage have reportedly accepted a bid for midfielder Michael Bostwick.

Posh were rumoured to be interested in three players from Stevenage and had recently had a combined bid for Bostwick and Lawrie Wilson turned down by the Hertfordshire club.

Wilson is now expected to wrap up a deal with fellow Championship side Charlton while Posh are now expected to finalise a deal for Bostwick in the next couple of days.

Bostwick joined Stevenage in 2008 and has played a vital role in their back-to-back promotions from the Conference to League One.

The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the best midfielders outside the top two leagues.

A box-to-box midfielder, he will add more physicality to the Posh midfield, which is something that is lacking at Posh and an area Darren Ferguson wanted to improve upon.

Advanced talks are currently taking place with a view to signing a three-year deal at London Road.
