Posh – Cooper`s Gone!

After a mere thirteen games in charge, during a period that spanned seventy-nine days, Mark Cooper and Peterborough Football Club have parted company.

With Darren Ferguson having previously left by mutual consent it was hoped that the former Kettering Town boss would bring a change of fortune but not so. If anything our form became even more erratic with Cooper`s Posh only winning one of those thirteen games in charge.

Talking about his sudden and shock exit, Cooper, in a prepared statement released by the club, remarked,

“I am deeply shocked and saddened that my contract with Peterborough has been terminated.”

‘I’d like to offer my sincere thanks to all of the players, all of whom have been 100% behind me, and to my staff.’

So where do we go from here?

Who is next in the firing line is anyone`s guess!

Interestingly, after implying that his last press statement would be his last for this season, how long before Darragh MacAnthony has to give another?

I don’t. A lot of fans were giving it the big’un about how well they’d do this season because they romped L1 and L2. Just goes to show how big the step up to the CCC actually is. Oh, and expecting Ferguson to push them up the league on no budget and then sacking him is ridiculous after all he’s done for the club. As is sacking Cooper after 13 games. They’ve gotten everything they asked for.

That chairman at London Road seems like he’s not living in the real world!!!
