With the January transfer window open and a declaration hanging in the air that Posh are not looking to buy anybody, the struggle to hang onto our prize assets continues.

Several clubs will be looking towards our leading goal scorer, Craig Makail-Smith, as a potential target and with the striker sure to better last seasons` total of nineteen goals this season several clubs may be looking at submitting a bid.

Hopefully, Posh will be able to decline such bids and Makail-Smith has hinted he`s perfectly happy at London Road when he remarks,

‘I don’t take any notice of the speculation. I’m so happy to be playing for Peterborough at this time and I am really enjoying my football.”

‘I don’t set myself scoring targets, but I am thrilled that I’ve almost matched last season’s tally already.”

‘I just want to keep scoring and with the players I have around me I am confident I can.’

I get this feeling our resolve to keep Mackail-Smith could be severely tested this month.
