Looking ahead, and if we do realise our dreams of back-to-back promotions, there could well be a downside.

Already clubs have come sniffing around with the possible intent of luring Darren Ferguson away from London Road, thankfully with no success.

But, the better the achievement the better the status and the more chance there`ll be of someone trying that much harder to lure Darren into the promised land of the Premier League.

Thankfully, at this moment in time, Darren appears wary of making that leap, possibly due to the treatment his close friend, Paul Ince, received up at Ewood Park.

Speaking to the Daily Mail Darren has commented on the situation remarking,

‘The Premier League is scary. Three bad results and you`re under pressure.”

‘It doesn`t reflect well on young managers and I`d like to think clubs would have more patience.”

‘I felt for Ince because he had done well at Macclesfield – most people who played at his level would never have taken that job. Then he did well at MK Dons, but he will be back.”

‘It gets harder as you move up the league because suddenly everyone is a millionaire. Then the art is about man-management. I think that`s why the old man has done well with different teams, dealing with their egos and their personalities. United have a good leader and the players have a work ethic.’

We`ve always had Darren down as a sensible lad and we, here at Vital Posh, feel he`ll be with us for a few years to come as he attempts to build a dynasty many of us thought would never happen during those dark days when cash was hard to come by.
