Peterborough United duo Paul Taylor and George Boyd are reportedly the subject of a seven figure bid from Ipswich Town.

With deadline day looming, the rumour mill is gaining momentum once again, and Posh`s want away duo George Boyd and Paul Taylor are being linked with a move away from London Road. Both Taylor (left) and Boyd (right) have declined new contracts at the Posh and were transfer listed.

Speculation has been growing about the transfers of Taylor and Boyd, especially on Taylor`s part. He has been linked with a number of clubs after a reported bust up between him and either Darren Ferguson or Kevin Russell, that resulted in Taylor leaving the match early. Taylor was signed by Ferguson during our successful league 1 playoff promotion season having been released by his previous clubs. His former clubs included Vauxhall Motors, and Anderlecht! But drug problems sent his career spiralling out of control. Ferguson has been instrumental in getting his career back on track, and wherever he goes, it will be due to Fergie that he even still plays professional football.

As for Boyd, he has stayed loyal to the Posh for a number of years now. He joined Posh back in 2007, and has notched over 50 goals in nearly 250 appearances for the club. He spend the end of Posh`s 2010 relegation campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest, where he played 6 games and scored 1 goal. But he came back and signed a 3 year new deal in 2010, which means his current contract runs out at the end of this season. He has stated his desire to leave the club, but has also said he won`t rush to the exit (as Taylor seems to be trying to do). He has said he`ll only go to a team that meets the Chairman`s evaluation, and that is expected to happen before the Transfer deadline.

Darragh MacAnthony has tweeted, and told fans its going to be a mad week of deals: ‘This whole week is madness regarding transfer window…Amazes me why clubs leave it so late when they have had all summer to do business.` But he has also said he won`t be commenting on any proposed transfers, in or out, so we`ll have to wait and see what happens!
