With pre-season having been blitzed by the flu bug and a serious of niggling injuries, there is a sense of optimism ahead of the game.

Our manager, Darren Ferguson, expects Craig Mackail-Smith to come through his own injury hell with a comeback against Sunderland, on Tuesday night remarking,

‘Craig will have an hour against Sunderland and hopefully he will come through.’

Also, Tim Williams and Jamie Day, both of whom missed the trip to Oxford are also expected to be fit, as is Ben Wright who also missed the trip to the Kazem Stadium.

Which leaves only Chris Whelpdale as our only casualty; provided we pick up no more knocks on Tuesday!
